Privacy Policy

Central Texas Studio LLC ("Central Texas Studio," "we," "us") is a small studio in Georgetown, Texas. We make custom hardwood furniture, small wood goods such as butcher blocks and serving trays, and fine art photography prints. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.centraltxstudio.com, place an order, or contact us, and how we use it.

Information we collect

When you place an order. Our online store and checkout run on Squarespace. When you buy something, we collect your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number (if you provide it), the items you order, and order notes. Payments are processed by Stripe, including any pay-later options shown at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.

When you contact us. Our contact and quote forms ask for your name, your email, and your message. Some forms also ask for your phone number. If you email or call us, we receive whatever you choose to send.

When you join our email list. If you sign up for updates through one of our forms, we keep your name and email address so we can send occasional news about new pieces and prints. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.

When you browse the site. Like most websites, ours automatically collects technical information. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, and approximate location (city or region level). We collect this through cookies and similar technologies from Squarespace and from Google Analytics 4 (see "Cookies and analytics" below).

Social media. Our site links to our Instagram profile (@central_tx_studio) and our X profile (@CentralTXStudio). We do not use the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel or embedded social feeds on this site. If you interact with us on those platforms, their own privacy policies apply. If we ever add an advertising pixel, we'll update this policy first.

How we use your information

We use your information to:
- process, build, ship, and deliver your order, and arrange local pickup or delivery for furniture
- send order confirmations, shipping updates, and replies to your questions
- handle returns, reprints, and repairs under our Returns & Refunds policy
- send marketing emails, but only if you've signed up, and you can unsubscribe at any time
- understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it
- prevent fraud and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed for them to do their job:
- Squarespace: website hosting, online store, checkout, forms, and email
- Stripe: payment processing
- Our print lab: prints and ships fine art print orders directly to you, so it receives your name, shipping address, and order details
- Shipping carriers (e.g., UPS): to deliver small wood items
- Google Analytics: website usage statistics

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers, or others.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies that are essential for the site and cart to work. We also use Google Analytics 4 and Squarespace analytics to see, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how people find us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the cart and checkout may not work without them. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. How long we keep it

We keep order records as long as we need them for taxes, accounting, warranties, and returns, generally up to 7 years. We keep contact form messages and email correspondence as long as needed to answer you and follow up on your project. We keep email list information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.

Your choices and rights

Unsubscribe: use the link at the bottom of any marketing email, or email us.
Access, correction, or deletion: email sales@centraltxstudio.com and we'll help. Depending on where you live, including Texas, you may have the right to know what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or get a copy. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. We may need to keep some records, such as tax and order records, where the law requires it.

Security

Payments are handled by Stripe over encrypted connections, and our site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we limit who can access your information and use reputable service providers.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
